Description:
The hub has been designed as a shared space to build on community relations work in north Belfast with the aim of giving land back to the city and the communities around it.
As well as providing a state-of-the-art gym and well being area, youth spaces, multi-purpose rooms and outdoor piazza with seating, the hub also offers classrooms for Belfast Metropolitan College to run their education and training programmes.
Design Features:
A high quality services installation was required with services integrated into the building fabric incorporating current best practice in relation to energy conservation and whole life costs resulting in the installation of:
1. Ground Source Heat Pumps
2. Solar Hot Water Panels
3. Photovoltaic Panels, and
4. Rainwater Harvesting System.
The scheme is targeting a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
